Why record calls

Recordings settle the "what did they actually say" questions. They let you check how calls are being handled, train new staff with real examples and prove the value of leads to clients or buyers. They are also what powers AI call intelligence, which turns each recording into a transcript, summary and lead score.

Set up to UK rules from the start

  • Announcement. Callers hear a short message before they are connected. Use ours or record your own, such as "Calls are recorded for training and quality."
  • Card payments. If your team takes card details by phone, pause and resume recording with a key press so card numbers are never stored. Card numbers mentioned on any call are also removed from transcripts automatically.
  • Retention. Choose how long recordings are kept, from 30 days to two years, and they are deleted automatically after that.
  • Access. Decide which users can listen, download or share recordings. Every listen and download is logged.

Our guide to call recording and the law explains how UK GDPR, PECR and PCI DSS apply to recorded calls.

Recording quality

Calls are recorded in stereo, with the caller on one channel and your side on the other. That makes recordings clearer to listen to and gives transcription a big accuracy boost, because it always knows who is speaking.

Finding the call you need

Search recordings by number, date, source, tag or anything said on the call. Play them in the browser at up to double speed, jump to the part of the transcript you care about, or share a link with a colleague that expires after seven days.

Frequently asked questions

Can I record some numbers and not others?

Yes. Recording is set per number, so you can record sales lines and leave others unrecorded.

Can I turn the announcement off?

You can, but you would then need another way to tell callers, such as on your website and in your privacy notice. We recommend keeping it on.

Where are recordings stored?

In UK data centres, encrypted at rest. See security and GDPR.
